Artificial intelligence robot where the devices and programs are set to directly replace humans in almost anything and in everything we do. Though Artificial intelligence projects are still in their early stages, much has been established, as seen in the case of smart cars that can drive us to our location remotely, smart homes that can be programmed to run our utilities remotely, and many more fascinating breakthroughs that are set to feature in the coming years.

The major limitation of simply defining Artificial intelligence robot as “Building Intelligent Machines” is an interdisciplinary science with multiple approaches even though recent advancements in machine learning and deep learning are affecting a paradigm shift over almost every tech industry sector.

Artificial intelligence projects is a machine’s ability to mimic, develop, and demonstrate human behavior.             

Artificial intelligence is broadly divided into two types:

  • Weak or narrow AI: This type of artificial intelligence, also known as “Weak AI,” operates in a limited context and mimics human intelligence. Narrow AI is focused primarily on performing a single task extremely well. While these machines show up to be intelligent, they are constrained and limited in ways that even the most basic human intelligence is not.

      A few examples of Narrow AI include: 

  • Google search
  • Image recognition software
  • Siri, Alexa and other personal assistants
  • Self-driving cars
  • IBM’s Watson 

           Simply stated, machine learning feeds computer data and implements statistical techniques to assist it in “learning” how to get progressively better at a task without being specifically programmed for that task, thus further eliminating the need for millions of lines of written code. 

Machine learning is divided into two categories: Supervised learning (using labelled data sets) and UnSupervised learning (using data sets that are unlabeled).

            Artificial Intelligence Robot One among the machine learning type is deep learning that processes inputs through a biologically inspired neural network architecture. The neural networks have several hidden layers. First, the data is processed, allowing the machine to go “deep” in its learning, making connections and weighting input for the best results.

  • Strong or Artificial General Intelligence (AGI): AGI, also known as “Strong AI,” is the subset of ai shown in movies. AGI is a machine intelligence with human-like, which can use that intelligence to solve any problem.

          The advancement of a “universal algorithm for learning and acting in any environment.” AGI has long been the attraction for dystopian science fiction in which humanity is over-run by super-intelligent robots, but experts agree it’s not something we should be concerned about anytime soon.

The 4 Types of Artificial Intelligence are:

Reactive AI

                   AI that reacts, which is the essential type of Artificial intelligence projects, is reactive AI, which is programmed to generate predictable results based on its input. Reactive machines respond to identical situations, in the same way every time, and they are incapable of learning actions or visualizing the future or the past.

Examples include:

  • Deep Blue, world champion Garry Kasparov was defeated by the IBM chess-playing supercomputer.
  • Promotions and phishing attempts of our spam filters that are kept out of our inboxes
  • The recommendation engine of the Netflix

                    Reactive AI was a huge step forward in the history of Artificial intelligence projects development, but these types of AIs can’t function beyond their initial designed tasks. As a result, they are inherently limited and have room for improvement. As a result, scientists built the following type of AI.

Limited Memory AI

                     Limited memory AI – By observing actions or data, the limited memory AI learns from the past and gains experiential knowledge. This Artificial intelligence project makes predictions and performs complex classification tasks by incorporating historical, observational data with pre-programmed information. It is presently the most widely used Artificial intelligence project.

                      Autonomous vehicles, for example, use limited memory AI to observe other cars’ speed and direction, allowing them to “read the road” and adjust as needed. This process of conceptualizing and interpreting incoming data makes them more reliable on the road.

However, as the name implies, limited memory AI is still limited. The data that autonomous vehicles use is transient, which is not saved in the long term memory of a car.

Theory of Mind AI

                     Do you want to have a meaningful conversation with an emotionally intelligent robot that looks and sounds like a real person? With the theory of mind, Artificial intelligence projects this is on the horizon.

With this type of Artificial intelligence robot, machines will be able to make true decisions in the same way that humans do. For example, devices with the theory of mind Artificial intelligence robot will understand and remember emotions, then adjust behavior based on those emotions as they interact with people.

                     There are still several hurdles to achieving the theory of mind because the process of shifting behavior based on rapidly shifting emotions is so fluid in human communication. Therefore, it is difficult to mimic as we try to create more and more emotionally intelligent machines.

Self-aware Artificial intelligence Robot

                    Self-aware Artificial intelligence robot are the most advanced type in Artificial intelligence projects. When machines can recognize their own emotions as well as the emotions of those around them, they will have a level of consciousness and intelligence similar to humans. This type of Artificial intelligence robot will also have desires, needs, and emotions.

This type of Artificial intelligence project will enable machines to be self-aware of their internal emotions and mental states. Hence, they could make inferences (such as “I’m angry because someone cut off my power”) that other types of Artificial intelligence projects cannot.
